Dietary requirements of hamsters:
Hamsters are mainly omnivores, and their basic diet consists of granules or mixes. You can also offer them a few fresh or dried vegetables and fruit, but take care not to give them foods too high in sugar.
As for their fellow creatures, it is important to pay attention to the amounts fed to these small animals, to prevent them from gaining too much weight when given foods too high in calories.
Feeding your pet mouse:
As for rats, granules are an ideal, practical solution for mice. Seed mixes are an excellent base for these small animals. High in protein, fats and calcium, these mixes offer mice all the essential nutrients, without having to sort through their food.
As for their fellow creatures, you can feed them a small amount of fresh or dried fruit and vegetables, limited to two or three times a week only.
Nutritional requirements for rats:
Granules contain all the essential nutrients to ensure rats have a balanced diet, without having to sort through their food. You can feed your pet small amounts of fruit and vegetables to meet its vitamin C requirements, but beware of the risk of diarrhoea.
Rats are complete omnivores and need protein supplements. You can therefore offer your pet a moderate portion of cooked meat or fish, or egg yolk, to meet its protein requirements.
